"These are the tough, but necessary steps we must take for an affordable New York, and as Governor, I will make sure we take them," Andrew Cuomo said today, releasing his Cap NY Property Taxes Agenda. Cuomo's proposal expands on his work to provide taxpayer relief by reducing the property tax burden for New Yorkers across the State and helping keep families in their homes and businesses open.

“Our property tax burden is growing into a crisis, as New Yorkers across the State are forced from their homes. We need to cap property taxes, but there is more to do,” Cuomo said. “That’s why my proposal will reign in the size of our inefficient and inexpensive local governments, stop Albany’s imposition of unfunded mandates, and cap our State’s annual spending.
