Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today received the endorsement of New York City Council Member Farah N. Louis in his campaign for Mayor of New York City.  In throwing her full support behind the Governor, she cited Governor Cuomo’s experience, clear record of delivering for the city, and unique leadership skills that are needed during this consequential moment in time. Council Member Louis represents the 45th Council District in Brooklyn, NY which includes the diverse neighborhoods of Flatbush, East Flatbush, Midwood, Flatlands, and Marine Park. She also serves as Chair of the Committee of Women and Gender Equity, where she fights for access to housing affordability, quality education, reproductive rights, and equitable healthcare.

“New York City stands as the greatest metropolis in the world, yet we find ourselves confronting complex challenges — from subway safety and housing insecurity to maternal health and youth development,” said Council Member Louis. “What we desperately need is bold, experienced leadership with a clear vision to help our city not just recover, but truly thrive. Andrew Cuomo has consistently demonstrated his commitment to New York City, delivering concrete results when the stakes are highest. His track record speaks volumes about his ability to transform challenges into opportunities. I'm proud to support Andrew for mayor because he embodies the leadership our city needs.”

The Council member joins, U.S. Rep. Ritchie Torres, the Staten Island Democratic Party, Assemblymember Charles Fall, Assemblymember Eddie Gibbs, Assembly Member Yudelka Tapia, Council Member Kamillah Hanks, New York City and Vicinity District Council of Carpenters, District Council 9 of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, former Brooklyn Democratic party Chairman Frank Seddio, Brooklyn Democratic party Vice Chair Henry Butler, 25 District Leaders across the city, former national director of the Anti-Defamation League  Abe Foxman, the Village Reform Democratic Club, and the Italian American Leadership Council in endorsing Governor Cuomo for Mayor of New York City.

Throughout his career in public service, Governor Cuomo has been a champion for working New Yorkers. He raised wages for millions of workers, passed the strongest gun violence prevention and paid family leave laws in the nation, advanced the most substantial infrastructure program in a generation, including the Second Avenue Subway, the Moynihan Train Hall, the new Kosciuszko Bridge and the new JFK and LaGuardia airports and codified Roe vs. Wade in state law years before the Supreme Court overturned it, all while cutting taxes and reining in spending.
