Residents Discussed Concerns over Public Safety, Taxes, and Building New Housing
I Don’t Think Staten Island Has Received the Attention it Deserves.
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo met Staten Island residents this morning over breakfast at the Kings Arm Diner, with Council Member Kamillah Hanks.
During breakfast the group discussed key issues that impact Staten Islanders– heavily focusing on how the boroughs are the soul of New York City and have far too long been overlooked. Governor Cuomo re-emphasized the need to address the affordability crisis that is plaguing the City, the need to support and uplift small business owners who have struggled since the pandemic, and address the housing crisis that is overwhelming residents.
Earlier today, Council Member Hanks and Assembly Member Charles Fall offered up their enthusiastic support of Governor Cuomo’s vision to save New York City. This support follows the rousing endorsements that Governor Cuomo received from the Staten Island Democratic Party, along with the backing of District Leaders from Staten Island and across the five boroughs.
“No one can argue that we are living in unprecedented times– we need a tested person that will rise to the challenges of today and prepare us for the future. Former Governor Andrew Cuomo has a record of decisiveness that cannot be denied,” Councilmember Kamillah Hanks said. “No matter where you stand, one thing is clear: New York needs strong, unapologetic leadership, I believe Andrew Cuomo provides exactly that. I am with him.”
