Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today received the endorsement of Teamsters Local 237, where its president, Greg Floyd, endorsed Governor Cuomo in his mayoral bid on behalf of the membership. Founded in 1952, Teamsters Local 237 is composed of public service members, primarily school safety officers and NYCHA workers.
“It was his voice and his steady hand, the sense that someone was in charge, that helped lead this state and the nation out of the heart-wrenching chaos,” said Greg Floyd, President of Teamsters Local 237. “He not only provided “must see TV”, but Andrew Cuomo gave us hope for a better tomorrow. It is because of these accomplishments, and proven track record of success, Teamsters Local 237 proudly endorses Andrew Cuomo for Mayor of New York City. He knows what we need, we trust him to get things done.”
Teamsters Local 237 joins Aldo's Democratic Club, U.S. Rep. Ritchie Torres, former Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., the Staten Island Democratic Party, Assembly member Charles Fall, Assembly member Eddie Gibbs, Assembly Member Yudelka Tapia, Council Member Kamillah Hanks, Council Member Farah Louis, New York City and Vicinity District Council of Carpenters, District Council 9 of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, former Brooklyn Democratic party Chairman Frank Seddio, Brooklyn Democratic party Vice Chair Henry Butler, 25 District Leaders across the city, former national director of the Anti-Defamation League Abe Foxman, the Village Reform Democratic Club, and the Italian American Leadership Council in endorsing Governor Cuomo for Mayor of New York City.
Throughout his career in public service, Governor Cuomo has been a champion for working New Yorkers. He raised wages for millions of workers, passed the strongest gun violence prevention and paid family leave laws in the nation, advanced the most substantial infrastructure program in a generation, including the Second Avenue Subway, the Moynihan Train Hall, the new Kosciuszko Bridge and the new JFK and LaGuardia airports and codified Roe vs. Wade in state law years before the Supreme Court overturned it, all while cutting taxes and reining in spending.
